Electrical Submersible Pumping Systems

Borets Company manufactures full ESP systems for oil production in the following sizes typical for Russia:

  • 5" – pump with housing OD 3.62 in. designed for casing string with min. ID 4.791 in.
  • 5À" :
    • pump with housing OD 4.06 in. and electric motor size 406 – designed for casing string with min. ID 4.893 in.
    • pump with housing OD 4.06 in. and electric motor size 461 – designed for casing string with min. ID 5.118 in.
  • 6" – pump with housing OD 4.49 in. designed for casing string with min. ID 5.681 in. 
  • 6B" – pump with housing OD 5.12 in. designed for casing string with min. ID 5.965 in. 

Typical ESP system configuration supplied by Borets consists of:

  • submersible centrifugal pump
  • intake module or gas stabilizing unit (gas separator, dispersant, gas separator-dispersant)
  • protector section
  • submersible electric motor
  • high-temperature cable and motor lead extension
  • downhole sensor system
  • switchboard for submersible electric motor
  • check valve
  • as an accessory a shroud for ESP system can be supplied for operation in wells below perforation zone

The abovementioned units are produced in a wide range and can be manufactured for standard and heavy-duty operating conditions.
Borets highly skilled specialists utilize specialized software and can perform an ESP system application for any specific well ensuring high equipment performance.

Electrical submersible pumps
Borets manufactures pumps of following types:

  • electrical submersible pumps with dual-pad stages made of Ni-resist (ESPD) and single-pad stages made of Ni-resist (ESPMIK) are designed for operation in severe conditions: with high solids content, corrosion and high temperature of pumped-out fluid
  • electrical submersible pumps with dual-pad high-strength and abrasive-resistant powder stages (ESPDP) are designed to withstand scaling and operate in gassy wells
  • electrical submersible pumps with compression-dispersing stages

Gas stabilizing modules
In case of high gas content pumping system may be equipped with gas stabilizing module at pump intake:

  • gas separators and dispersants are designed for operation in wells with up to 55% of gas at pump intake;
  • tandems “gas separator-dispersant” are designed for operation in wells with up to 68% of gas at pump intake;
  • multiphase pump units are designed for operation in wells with up to 70% of gas at pump intake.

Submersible electric motors with seal sections
Borets manufactures submersible induction oil-filled electric motors with housing outside diameters of  4.06, 4.61 and 5.12 in. (103, 117 and 130 mm) and horsepower of 10.7 to 603.5 hp (8 to 450 kW). A wide range of modifications allows selecting motor with optimal power for each particular pump. Electric motors are produced in standard, high-temperature (ambient temperature on cable guide wheel depth up to 275°F (135°Ñ)) and corrosion-resistant modifications.
Seal section is designed to protect inner part of submersible electric motors against penetration of formation fluid inside motor and to compensate oil thermal expansion.

Motor lead extensions (MLE)
Power is supplied to submersible electric motor through MLE with pothead (operating temperature up to 450°F (230°Ñ)).

Switchboard and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) for submersible electric motor
Switchboard is designed to control, protect and monitor ESP system operation data. It allows receiving data about operation of submersible equipment, maintaining desired well operation mode, preventing damages and thus, increasing oil production. Our engineers have developed surface equipment including switchboard with soft start and VSD.

Downhole sensor system
Borets downhole sensor systems are designed to provide multi-parameter ESP monitoring (pump, intake pressure, vibration, motor temperature).
